For the first time in many years I am trying to use diet and exercise together and have lost 11 pounds but a few might have came back. I am using myfitnesspal and you basically log your food and exercise and there is also other members that you can become "friends" with. Today, I burned over 400 calories at the Y and they put the calories back as in you can eat them. Does anyone know if that's really the way to lose weight? They have me set up on 1950 calories a day and I told it I wanted to lose a pound a week. Just wondering what anyone might think about that on here.

hi,
I'm using the natural ways with vitamins , and with excercise and eating right.
I can send you the natural weight loss vitamins, if you'd like.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind but I tend to not take vitamins even if I want to because of past experiences with getting sick to my stomach.

I'm no expert, but I have been reading up on the topic of weight loss. I'm currently counting calories for the first time in my life, and have lost 10 pounds since mid-January. I have not added extra exercise, but have cut down my calories. My goal was 1 pound a week, but I actually set my calories too low and lost 1.4 pounds a week. After some calculations I figured out last night that with my normal activities I require at least 2065 calories a day. I'd need 500 calories less than that a day to lose a pound a week. So if you are similar to me then add in 400 extra calories burned through exercise, you're at 2465. Subtract 500 for fat burning and you are at 1965. So I think the calories calculated for you are pretty accurate.

Thanks April, are you saying that I should stick only eating about 2000 calories daily with or without exercise?
