It's frustrating to train so well all summer long and have to deal with that. It has sort of turned me off the idea of running for races.. I put a lot of pressure on myself to run the race no matter what.. and I mean run.. no walking.
I am not saying don't run just not sure I want to set out to make my end goal a half marathon.. However, I did look up the training guide to a full marathon.. I would love to say I ran a full marathon!! but training for a full marathon is just not ideal with a full time job.. well, that's what I tell myself.
Right now I will be aiming to get back to my fitness classes and work on the weights in the weight room.. the weight room is a place that I am not quite comfortable but I need to build some strength so I will be stronger.
Has anyone that is reading ever run a full marathon?

Hello! I am an occasional visitor to your page and a runner myself. I've run a ton of half marathons and I'm now training for my first full marathon in January. Don't get discouraged! It takes a while, but the half marathon distance will feel like no big deal after a while. Also, this spring I discovered the Galloway run/walk method. You run for a period of time (60 sec for me), walk for a period of time (30 sec for me), and repeat. It's completely changed my long distance running and I enjoy it so much more that I used to. Something to think about!
Good luck on your full marathon.. The method that you mentioned is there an ap that tells you when to walk or run? I think I would have a hard time staying into my run/walk if I had to watch a stop watch.
There are apps for intervals! Even some free ones. I haven't tried any myself, though. I have a simple Gymboss Interval timer (https://www.amazon.com/Gymboss-Interval-Timer-Stopwatch-METALLIC/dp/B00CH05BLO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475963541&sr=8-1&keywords=run+timer) that I clip on my belt. It beeps and/or vibrates when your walk or run interval is over (both intervals can be set to any time you want). This works well because I have running buddies so we can all use a single timer.
